Ms. Becky Elliston is joining the staff of St. Timothy’s as the 3rd-5th grade Homeroom teacher. She is teaching Math, Latin, Grammar/Writing, Literature/Reading, Bible, and History/Geography. Becky earned a B.A. degree in History and English from University of Texas at Arlington, as well as a Texas Teacher’s Certificate. She is accredited as a Gifted/Talented educator and an Advanced Placement teacher in World History and European Studies, She has spent 22 years in public education. At South Garland High School, Becky taught with Frank Bridwell and at Rockwall High School, she was named “Most Inspirational Teacher” for several years by the student body. Currently, she is pursuing a Deaconess Certificate at Cranmer Theological House and is a founding member of St. Benedict’s Anglican Church in Rockwall. In addition, Ms. Elliston has travelled extensively participating in mission work in Russia, Egypt, and Romania. Ms. Elliston is a strong advocate of classical education and has spent the past eight years in the homeschool community, especially the Classical Conversations program, as her daughters’ families homeschool their children. The benefits of the traditional tools of learning such as memorization, rhetoric, logic and Latin are immeasurable. For Becky, the joy of teaching is found in a parish school which uses the Trivium and Quadrivium models for learning in order to “equip the training of the mind, body and soul of a child.” She treasures spending time with friends and family, especially beach time with her six grandchildren. Becky is an enthusiastic life long learner and gravitates toward great books in pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
